|
With relentless
pursuit by the American military under the command
of General George Crook, and the Mexican scalp
hunters for bounty,
the Apache were always on the defense. Once
attacked, the survivors would split up and escape
north through the desert, many on foot. Only true
grit and spirit saw them through. So, "Back from Sonora."
