			 "THE
			OFFER" |
		|
|

						In Native American
ceremonies, tobacco was offered to the spirits. Often at
the start of a meeting the pipe was lit and smoke was
blown to the four directions then smoke was offered to
Father sky and Mother Earth. The pipe is one's prayers.
Smoke becomes one's words going out and touches
everything and becomes a part of all there is. The pipe
ceremony invokes a relationship with the energies of the
universe and the creator and the bond made between
earthly and spiritual realms is not to be broken.

						Often called a peace pipe
by Europeans coming to the new world.
